Can anyone please explain where I go to download parameters from the database? I've re-subscribed to the list but can't seem to find the relevant page on the website - just a lot of information about downloading parameters but no actual parameters to download! I'm sure it's me being stupid but it's driving me mad hammerhead

OK - I've found a link to the appropriate page now - should've asked sooner! Still can't access it 'cos I haven't got a password. I've got an 'identifier' for accessing the public pages but that doesn't work - get a login failed message. Where do I get a password from?

Hiya Mags
Go to www.ufdbparam.info/
Scroll down to UF mail list Parameters database and click
User = your full email address that you used to sign up with
Password= whatever your password was when you sent in your request

Sorry I dont know what else to suggest if this doesn't work.........Paul

Hi Paul

Have got it sorted now thanks. Seems from the list that lots of people are confused - glad it's not just me being thick as usual!!

The problem was I got an 'identifier' from the public pages and assumed this was the password etc for everything. Of course, it didn't work. Then I got a page with another form to fill in but this didn't ask you to put a password in so when I came to get onto the parameters db I didn't have a password. Eventually, someone sent me the correct page to fill in my user name and password so now everything works OK.

What a shame you have to work on Boxing Day. My other half's a musician so he always works every night at Christmas - this year he's got an afternoon gig in a hotel as well!

Hope you have a great time with the family and all the best for the new year.

Only members from the UF mailing list are getting a passwaord from Marcelo Anelli.
But if you want to download the old parameters from 1998-11 till 2003-05 visit this webpage:

http://www.fractalus.com/downloads/extras/

Download all the files like: uf-year-month.zip
Ther are also some gradients to download: joweber-gradients.zip

The rest is not interesting or already available for/in UF as formulas.

All the best,
Jos
