Can anyone please give me 'blow-by-blow' instructions for exporting a flame from Apo into UF - and then how to find it in UF - 'cos I thought I'd done it but where my flame is I've no idea!! Words of one syllable as if you were teaching a 10 year old should just about hit the mark!

Many thanks

Mags

Hi Mags,

You just choose in Apo "copy as UPR" in the edit menu........ open UF and paste like you do with any other UPR, once it is loaded then you can save it wherever you want Smile Make sure the rigth path is set in Apo,I don't know anymore what that is, it has been ages since I used Apo Confused

Thanks Lil - I was obviously expecting it to be much more complicated than it is. Very Happy

The complicated bit is really just making sure you're using the right ucl that's compatible with the version of apo you're using, and setting the correct file path for the ucl in apo's options menu... Also every time a new version of apo is released it's incompatible with the current ucl so you either have to wait for a new uf colouring to be released or go back to the previous version of apo (until it expires, anyway, which usually doesn't give you much time!). It can be a real hassle for those of us who like to use them together, but when it does work it's a fantastic way to work with flames. See this if you want to know what I mean but be warned, his opinions about apo might not be too popular, especially in a place like this where apo is so well loved. Very Happy

Joel Faber's hacked apo sometimes has the expiration disabled so that might work for you. The last updated ucl that I know of was for 2.05 beta (not beta 2) so you might have some trouble getting it to work. I haven't used it in a while. Going back to previous versions is annoying once you start using all of the shiny new features. You can always paste gradients between apo and uf. Apo gradients have way too many control points to be of much, if any, use for uf fractals but uf's gradient editor is excellent for apo flames.

Once you get everything set up it is just as easy as copying and pasting uprs between programs, at least until the current version of apo expires again. Mr. Green
